Grigory Galitsin and his wife Irina (her alias is Valentina).Law suit of the photographer from Volgograd Grigory Galitsin who is charged of making and distributing porno video and also of «laundering» money, which he has got in criminal way is almost finished. Judicial investigation is over. The day before the pleadings the correspondent of «EkaterinburgNEWS» talked to Grigory Galitsin.
- Grigory, you are charged of making porno shootings with under aged girls. Is it right?
- It happened this way: we really were making shootings of a 17 years old girl. But we did not do it specially. For a long time she was misleading us about her real age. From the very beginning she was bringing certificates of her friends then she told us that she needed a job because her brother was sick. We even talked to mother of this girl and she assured us that everything was normal and that her daughter would bring us her own certificate pretty soon. Believe me I am a trustworthy person I have got my own business which gives me a defined gain. I would never risk my business and my reputation if I knew the real age of this model. It is not in my nature to deal with risky venture.
- How did it uncover?
- We went to Moscow for shootings. We rent a room in the luxury hotel as we had already made a lot of shootings we had already become patrons and that is why we I needed only my certificate during our settlement. But though we asked our operator and the girls which had come with us to take their own certificates. Having our shooting we were preparing to go home, besides our girl was telling to other models that she is 19.
In the hotel our «supermodel» stuffed her bag with free shampoo, different creams, lotions, shower caps and slippers….I was afraid that she had taken something else because we had already had similar cases and I asked her to show us her things. And that moment we saw her real certificate!
I saw her certificate by accident and in this way everything uncovered. Having returned to Volgograd I told her: «We will part with you till you are at least 18». Our heroine, later «victim» - started crying and abusing professional models from Moscow. She called them prostitutes and she also started demanding the same payment which professional models from Moscow had. It was ridiculous because her payment was half as much!
In this way the conflict started. I told to my crew to use neither video with her no photo. No I regret that I did not destroy these materials. Somehow I do not know exactly was it incidental or it was done intentionally but the video of this 17 years old girls were put on the internet. It is necessary to say that we had a person in our team who had to check the age of our models there was the information about him on the web site. This man had to check the certificates of the models, he got odd money for this job. He was dealing with security service of the Russian Federation very close and when we were arrested he could get out of this deal – they even did not make him as an evidence of this case.
In fact, he is the one person who was absolutely quiet after the arrest, he did not bustle, by that time he had already learnt the statements because they had been already prepared before the arrest. I consider that he knew about our arrest one week before it. He had his own mercantile interest in this case.
And about ten days after our parting with this girl her friends started phoning us, they represented as thugs. They were asking us about our boss and other things. I know how to talk with people like them and I was able to fight them off. But this girl did not calm down she continued telling others that Galitsin had been making porno shootings with her and she was under aged. She also told their friends that Galitsin have got a nice car and a big flat and it would be very good to take his money. And after that this case in the logical way came to the public prosecutor’s office
- And several days after it you were arrested were not you?
- Yes, according to the statements of this girl they opened the criminal case (on the 8th of September 2006), and then they came to us with the search into our flat which we rent with my wife, that time we were in common-law marriage. They came on Sunday on the 17th of September early in the morning while we were still sleeping. It is striking but in the order which they did not show me at once there was written that they would search for weapon and ammunition in my flat. I was able to read the order only when my case was already closed. Of all these things there was only a beautiful pneumatic gun in my flat which we used during our shootings. It is natural that they did not find any weapon in my flat but allegedly they found something else. All these matters managed people from the “K” department this department deals with organized criminal groups. In fact the power capture was managed by the Federal Security Service of The Russian Federation, by the regional public prosecutor’s office and be the “K” department .

- Were the removed video files checked for compliance with the category «porno»?
The case was like this. From the very beginning there was a strange man in our case. This man was a retired policeman his family name is Ukrainsky . Once he had two DVD, there was a collection of erotic sites on these DVD including our photo and video materials (it seems that they were taken from our web site). Besides I have never seen these DVD. And from the beginning they tell that there was our production. In fact there was our production but there also was production of somebody else. Exactly on basis of these DVD the first expertise was made. According to this expertise fell into a place that first of all the production of these DVD have porno nature and secondly all the models from these video are not older 15. The expertise was in the network of operative- research measures; this circumstance is of a great importance: the experts did not make a signed statement of responsibility. The following examinations in the network of the criminal case were more thorough and they showed that there were not under aged models in our video files and only one third can be reckon among porno. Unfortunately I do not know what criteria they used during the investigation. But in my point of view the chief feature was occurrence of the close shot and lack of the plot, it was funny because I became famous on account of the occurrence of the plot even there where it was not demand! Of course we had close shots – it was faces of the models and also different parts of the body. But every photographer will agree with me – it is impossible that the model to be in full every time during the shootings.
- And what about the distributing of this video?
- Yeah, they tried to charge me of distributing this video among The Russian Federation. Exactly they tried to manage it with assistance of sir Ukrainsky, besides he lives in other city. It was an apparent provocation because we did not know each other. Now writes memoirs about his acquaintance with Galitsin during the investigation in the public prosecutor’s office. I had paid private erotic site registered abroad since 2004. It was very successful resource it could compete with others foreign analogs. It was in the top ten of the best erotic sites. I also was in the top five of the best photographers of the world! It happens in live «from rags to riches», but here we have got the reverse case! After all these embarrassing things, all the accusations people stopped greeting me. It is not easy to get off all these dirty things … Public prosecutor’s office claimed and was spreading the fame that we had made porno shootings almost with kids or with orphans from the children’s home.
- In your blog you wrote that investigator Chernishev S.V. demanded you on repeated occasions to give him your car «Hammer».
- Yes, it was. When I was under arrest my car was in the yard of my mother-in-law . The investigator Chernishev S.V. (now he is a substitute of the attorney of Volgograd) came to her place with a kind of girls and with a police agent Sergeev M. A. They ordered to give him the car and told her that «they would go and take a trip riding on Grigory’s car».My mother-in-law did not give them my car. Then when I was released from the prison I had the opportunity to use my car ( my car was only under the administrative arrest it means that I could not sell it or reissue it), and I was unlucky to park my car in front of the windows of the substitute of the attorney. I went away only for 20 minutes to talk to my lawyer. Having returned I found several cars near my car, I went home and where my wife was alone and saw 2 men with weapon, and 4 without weapon. The guys with weapon aimed my wife. It turned out that in this way they were trying get the keys of the car from my wife. We went to Chernishev to sort it out, he was shouting a lot and he was menacing that he would take my car using the tow car. I asked him to show me the regulation or the order… In the result no one could show me nothing and had nothing but to go home. Having spent 4-5 hours in the police station I was proposed to give them my car and the keys till the “clarifications”.
- Were there a lot of infringements during the procedure of the examination?
- Оh, it is impossible to tell about all of them shortly! For example during the search a lot of my things escaped. My icons were confiscated – I believe in God despite my profession, - they took old books written in Old Slavonic, they were very beautiful in leather cover –I liked to read the prayers in Old Slavonic very much… Still I can not understand: were these things also a part of the porno production?
And another moment: Chernishev proposed my wife cohabitation several times. From the very beginning he took her certificate. And when she was released she was without earnings. She tried to find the job but it goes without saying that everyone wanted to see her certificate and other documents. Irina had to call Chernishev and he was coming and demonstrating his service certificate he showed her certificate. Of course employers did not want to deal with Irina… After it he proposed her cohabitation for six months…..It was the same as if the Queen was proposed to move to the hotel from her castle…
I know that he had relationship with models who were also concerned with the case. I also know that he intimidated a lot of them and in this way he got statements from them. He proposed them to defame me, my designer- programmer, and my cameraman. The editor was persuaded to give him the statements in exchange for freedom, he became a parolee. Besides all the public prosecutor’s office knew the names of our models but this information can be make public only after the court decision. In general there were a lot of infringements.
- You wrote the letters to the President of The Russian Federation several times. What was the reaction?
- The reaction was unexpected. The answers on my letters were sent to the regional public prosecutor’s office. Once the investigator started reproaching me that I was writing to Putin (that time he was the President, he told me that it would not help me and the most striking thing that he was speaking negatively about our President. How can the worker of the public prosecutor’s office tell such negative things about our president? Once it occurred during the judicial sitting and it heard a lot of testificators, I can not understand things like that….The most effective thing was my appeal to Commissioner for Human Rights – only after this appeal the inspection came here.
- Tell us please about your prediction for the law suit?
- According to the events I believe that there will not be a conviction. But there also will not be a verdict of not guilty. We were under arrest for too long! The one thing which they can leave it is – the article № 242 – creating and distributing porno materials, which is out of date. I do not know whether they leave the accusation about under aged girls. To tell the truth I do not think so because this accusation is unproved. And others accusations, for example: «Laundering money» and so on are scattering….
